One of the advantages of hobbyist woodworking is the ability to build pieces custom to your home. This set of works covers small projects that prioritize utility without sacrificing personality.
The floating shelf, which sits on a cleat, is tremendously useful and elegant in its shimmering mahogany.
I conceived of the coat rack when pondering the beautiful hooks I had received as gifts. The project, one of my earliest ones, is stained pine.
The kitchen storage, while nothing too special in its design, is quite useful as it blends into the corner with its lightly stained oak.
The side tables are simply glued-up panels on an Ikea frame. The simplicity is elevated with luxurious woods: a sapele and Peruvian walnut combination in one and mahogany with bocote on the other.
The underbed drawers are all stained oak plywood. Simple in design and construction but more useful, and more pleasing to the eye, than the plastic containers I would have ended up using in their stead.
