Something fun I made as a gift for a friend, though one that had its fair share of headaches, this was my first novelty project. Template routing remains difficult for me to this day and nearly led to disaster in this work. A bit of fortune and ingenuity with scrap cherry saved the day. Cherry is probably my favorite wood to work: it has a timeless beauty to it. Even the burn marks are vibrant in color, their deep burgundy adding character and a sense of uniqueness. Overall I’m quite happy with how this turned out.
